About

Hi! I'm Brittany Ingalls, an accidental naturalist.

I’m a Utah native with a background in outdoor education and wilderness medicine who stumbled upon a passion for ecology. The superlatives of the natural world fascinate me - the tallest, the oldest, the most elusive, and especially the smallest. In my spare time I hike, climb, camp, backpack, and ski my way around the Western US.

My professional aspirations center around using restoration ecology and citizen science as tools to mitigate past and future human impacts on natural systems.

The photos featured on the front page of this website were all taken by me with an iPhone 6 camera and a 10x magnification accessory lens. Using this simple but effective technology has sharpened my observation skills and has given rise to the personal notion that anyone can be a naturalist.
